The Gauleiter ("Governor") of Prussia, the future Chief of the Luftwaffe and designated successor to Hitler opens the Prussian Senate for the first time under the Third Reich on March 12, 1933: "The revolution a few months ago swept through all Germany, and began therefore to ensure that that frightening system, the system of parliamentary pascifism, was obliterated and destroyed. The Führer has assigned to us in Prussia our task also, and we solemnly promise that every man will do his duty. The Prussian State Council is now open, and I open it with this call: To our Führer, Adolf Hitler, the German Reich's Chancellor, a triparte Seig! Heil! Seig Heil! Seig Heil!"

Serving as Prosecuting Attorney, an embarrassed Goering tries to steal the initiative away from defendant Georgi Dimitrov, the future Prime Minister of Bulgaria, after the accused turned the tables on the prosecutor regarding his charge that Dimitrov helped set the Reichstag fire that Goering almost certainly organized himself: "The German people are aware of your impudent behaviour here, and they know you have come here to set the Reichstag on fire, and the German people know that you have been insolent to them! I won't have you throw accusations at me! You are a scoundrel, and you should have been hanged long ago!"
